WASHINGTON — The House of Representatives has unanimously approved the “Care for Military Kids Act.”
Under the measure, any dependent of an active-duty service member currently receiving long-term care services through a state administered Medicaid plan will remain eligible for those services if their family is stationed in another state.
“The purpose of the bill, children who require long-term care who are military children, so children with disabilities or long-term care needs are require specialized care who receive that care through Medicaid, that they will not have to reapply when their families move from state to state,” said the bill’s co-sponsor, Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-Virginia, 2nd District).
