Suffolk awarded $1M in funding for water treatment facility

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk has been awarded $1 million in funding for the G. Robert House Water Treatment Facility Membrane Replacement project.

Electrodialysis Reversal, or EDR, is a drinking water treatment process that “applies electrical current to electrodes allowing the membranes to reduce naturally occurring high levels of fluoride in drinking water.”

Congresswoman Jen Kiggans is expected to present the check to Suffolk Mayor Michael Duman on Aug. 12.
